Innovation Insider - January 7th, 2025

Enron is back with nuclear eggs? Inflatable space stations, AI that smells, pesticide free agro robots and the year of innovation ahead.

New year, new world and new opportunities. What are you going to get done in 2025?

What are your goals? What do you want to do better than last year?

Most importantly, how badly do you want it and what are you willing to change to make it happen?

A name that may be familiar to many, Enron, is back in a big new way. Or is it? The famously disgraced company posted a cryptic tweet to their account on December 2, 2024 stating “We’re back, can we talk?. Then followed it up with an announcement of the Enron Power Summit (EPS) to take place on January 6th, 2025.

For those unfamiliar, before it’s bankruptcy on December 2, 2001, Enron employed approximately 20,600 staff and was a major electricity, natural gas, communications, and pulp and paper company, with claimed revenues of nearly $101 billion during 2000.

At the end of 2001, it was revealed that Enron's reported financial condition was sustained by an institutionalized, systematic, and creatively planned accounting fraud, known since as the Enron scandal.

So what did Enron have to announce at the EPS event on January 6th? The Egg - The world’s first micro-nuclear reactor made to power your home for 10 years. You can see the full video reveal here.

Does it sound pretty unbelievable? That’s likely because it is. It turns out the Enron’s reboot is part of a satirical bit by the same guys who created Birds Aren’t Real. Birds Aren't Real is a satirical conspiracy theory and social movement that humorously claims all birds were replaced by surveillance drones operated by the government.

So while a nuclear egg powering your home for 10 years will likely exist at some point, it sadly is not today. As further confirmation, the terms of service on Enron’s website state: “The information on the website about Enron is First Amendment protected parody, represents performance art, and is for entertainment purposes only.”

Hope you enjoyed a bit of satire to start the year. Now, it is time to build. It is time to work. It is time to achieve.

We’re back and planning a big year for you, our subscribers. So stay tuned.
